The domestic halal meat sector has great potential, but despite this, the halal meat processors in Pakistan have not been able to get the status due to which Pakistan can raise the flags of Pakistani halal meat in the world markets.
In this regard, former executive committee member, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman Halal Meat Processors and Exporters Association of Pakistan, Convener Standing Committee for Halal Food Export and Import, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nasib Saifi had a special meeting with Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman and presented a detailed review.
Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman assured full cooperation and promised to convey his voice to the Prime Minister and Finance Minister.
Nasib Ahmed Saifi said that the name of Pakistan is the guarantee of halal and our halal is 100% halal. He said that everyone is aware of this fact, but the arrangements and preparations that should be made in this regard are not visible in the country.
He said that Pakistan has to move forward in any situation and currently the external debt and foreign exchange reserves have decreased, leaving the country in need of foreign exchange.
He highlighted that the meat of Pakistani calf and goat has a unique taste worldwide. Local needs can also be met with dairy products obtained from the same cattle, and foreign exchange can also be earned.
Nasib Saifi requested Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman that halal meat processing should be given the status of a regular industry. He emphasized that embassies abroad and Chambers in the country should support this sector in view of the importance of the halal meat industry.
